HITCH EXTENSIONS
Not all hitch extenders are created equal. At 1UP USA, we recognize the differences and want them to be used appropriately. Our 1.25" Hitch Extender is compatible with 1.25" receivers. The Quik Rack and 1.25" Equip'D models use this.
A 1.25" - 2" Hitch Expander is compatible only with 1.25" receivers and 2" hitch accessories. It is used for customers who purchase 2" racks for larger vehicles but also use it occasionally on a smaller vehicle with a 1.25" receiver.
The 2" Hitch Extender is compatible with 2" hitch receivers and 2" hitch accessories. It is commonly used on vehicles with rear-mounted spare tires that require more clearance.
Our Hitch Reducer, meanwhile, is compatible only with 2" receivers and 1.25" hitch accessories. Customers with a 1.25" rack and a 2" receiver will use this when additional clearance is needed.
All hitch extenders are made from welded steel and include an anti-wobble lock pin. Refer to the Rack Fitment to determine if a hitch extension is necessary for your application. Each hitch extender would add 7 inches of clearance.
