SCOUTING EPIC SURF
This winter, Chris Burkard pedaled miles of Icelandic tumbled ice in search of waves worthy of his lens. Such scouting would not be possible without fat tires, made to float on snow, sand, and loose surfaces.

If you’ve even been to Iceland, or even seen pictures, you’re probably familiar with their unique off-road vehicles adorned with wide fenders, harboring the comically large tires. Traveling over this terrain requires specialized equipment that stands up to the rigors of the land. And that includes a rack up to the challenge this unique terrain presents.

Chris chose the Super Duty to safely transport his Fezzari fat bike to and from those beaches to capture the unique landscape and epic surf.

Iceland is as majestic as it is remote, often requiring specialized equipment and vehicles to reach the endless icy beaches that serve as the launch pad to epic surf. Getting to these remote beaches is not an easy road.
